3:46 AM Update

Can’t sleep.

So, a few things.

  1. This is super cool. 100+ books sold/read in the last 2.5 weeks since it came out.

2. I had a thought a few days ago… Of Jed standing on the palisade wall of Whitesberg with the first wagon train of settlers streaming out the gates and into Prehistoria.. and all the adventure that would be had…. I couldn’t help myself and had to start writing. This book is coming eventually. (But first I’ve some contracted books that need writing.)

3. I need a new background photo for my FB and Blog. Because this one is outdated now.

Anyways. Back to bed.

Thank you to everyone who made Conquering Prehistoric a successful launch!

Erik

CONQUERING PREHISTORIC – RELEASE DAY!

It’s out!

WOOOO.

It’s a great feeling to have something you worked hard on come to life after such a long time. Especially in this case… this book took much longer than typical due to some external reasons and I’m grateful it’s finished and publishable. 🙂

Link is above.

Kindle is out now, paperback should be out within a few hours/day… and audible should be out in a few months.

This is a bitter sweet moment as I leave the world of cowboys and dinosaurs behind to work on some other projects.

I really just want to keep going…

But, writing is a business and needs to be treated as such. Thus, I must go out and gather more readers by writing various things. The good news is that a rising tide raises all ships. By bringing in readers to my upcoming WWII series and the modern day action-adventure series that are in the plans now, I’ll be introducing more people to my work and in turn, to the world of West of Prehistoric.

Which means I can and will return. 🙂

I’ve already been rolling around ideas on how to continue and the series is certainly set up for some more fun and violence down the road.

So, here we go.

Tell your friends about it, buy family members copies, mention it in passing to your coworkers and neighbors, if you can without being weird about it. The more readers the books get, the sooner I can return.

Writing this series has been a dream come true.

And ironically, I believe it was a 4th of July Weekend in 2018 when I first started writing the opening pages for this series. So it’s fitting that this one should come out on the same weekend six years later.

I never thought I’d find this measure of success. I just hoped to write something that didn’t suck that would entertain people. And while these books may not be the next great American novel they’ve done just that… they’ve entertained many a person in a satisfactory manner.

And I’m eternally grateful for you giving my books a chance.

Have a wonderful Fourth of July.

Erik.

Conquering Prehistoric – Cover Reveal

I’m a bit late, already revealed it on Facebook and Instagram.

But here we go…

The Griswald Revolvers were swapped out for some battle axes and the over all cover darkened a bit, just a tease of the different point of view for this one.

Coming soon?

I’m checking my email almost hourly for the return of the manuscript from the editor so I can get crackin’ on it.

I’m betting by the end of June it’ll be out in paperback and ebook. Audible a couple months later. 🙂

A few odds and ends…

I’ve been editing/polishing up CONQUERING PREHISTORIC. I think it’s finished, but I’m waiting on a couple more readers’ feedback before I send it to Severed Press.

Letting the book sit for a couple of weeks and getting some reader feedback is always an immense help. It gives me fresh perspectives and lets me catch things I didn’t notice before… as well as add a few more details in as I think about what I could have done better during this down time.

And just a few odds and ends worth mentioning…

First, we were never allowed toy guns while growing up. It instills bad safety habits and you inevitably break all of Cooper’s Gun Safety Rules. My wife and I kept the ban in our house, yet somehow…. a pair of these nerf pistols showed up yesterday with my 8 year old daughter from Walmart…

So we took some time for a new lesson.

Which is, don’t arm your father with a nerf gun and tell him Cooper’s Safety Rules no longer apply…

I’ve been hunting my children for hours.

They live in fear.

Lesson learned. Now the nerf guns will disappear.

(Also, my daughter shot me in the eye within the first hour. It freaking HURT. Honestly, there were tears. These things really sting, which makes it all the more fun…)

Second, I have a new writing buddy. He’s a Betta and he sits beside me at my desk.

His name is Rittenhouse cause he’s a cool kid and Captain America was taken.

I’ll have to get a picture of him flared up in front of a mirror some time. He’s a stud and available for breeding. I just want pick of the litter.

Third, my daughter has been HUGE into bracelet and necklace making. I’ve managed to avoid the necklaces so far, but today I was rocking three very gaudy… I mean… beautiful… bracelets.

It all started so innocently too with some pony beads. Now its… all sorts of things.

But look, we made our dog one too.

Fourth, if you haven’t watched Fallout yet – you should. I played the games and they were fantastic. And whoever did this TV show did it right. No weird woke garbage, no need to have played the games previously to understand, just cool end of the world/alternate 50’s timeline desolation and violence.

Fifth. There was a gun control debate. Normally not worth mentioning, it’s the same old crap over and over again…. but David Hogg was asked by a communist survivor the following question:

“I am a Chinese immigrant who survived communism, and under Mao, you know, 40 million people were starving to death after he sold communism to them, and 20 million people died, murdered, during his cultural revolution. So my question to you, David, is can you guarantee me, a gun owner, tonight, our government in the U.S., in D.C., will never, never become a tyrannical government?”

His response?

Awesome. Just awesome.

Anyways.

It’s 11:30pm and I need sleep.

Tomorrow, we write!
